Focus: Inspiration is the hope and foundation to everything that has to do with fashion. Whether it is photography, art or anything for that matter, I hope that this site will be a place to inspire, learn, share, and grow as a program. To submit student work or ideas e-mail the editor Alisha Miele at amm7d@mtsu.edu "Fashion is a kind of communication. It's a language without words" - Helmut Lang

    FASHION WEEK 2010
Here are some photos from the Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week 2010! The atmosphere of the place was hard to capture in a few photos- it was truly an indescribable experience. It is sad that this was the last year for Fashion Week to be held at Bryant Park-it's part of history now! Future fashion weeks' will be held at the Lincoln Center. Photo credits A.Miele

Interviewee of the Month ERIN BROWN
Q: What all does your job entail A: I have about four different jobs right now…Wardrobe Stylist on set as well as personal-which is completely different, Styles & Trends Editor for Wilson Living Magazine, and producer for Fashion News Live, which covers New York Fashion Week events as well as backstage designer and celebrity interviews. You can check it out at www.FashionNewsLive.com Q: What is your favorite part of your job/what rewards does it give you A: I love the variety, the creative outlet and working for myself. Q: What does your typical work day consist of A: Everything. Phone calls, delegating, running around to different stores to pull clothing/returns, meetings for future projects. Q: How did you first break into the industry A: Working for free as much as possible, and working hard and efficiently when I was on the job. I was very observant; always learning. The key to a successful internship and one day career in fashion is to have the hunger to learn and do the menial tasks, so when it's your time, you will actually know how to start and complete a project successfully. Q: What advice would you give students to get a job in the fashion industry A: Be humble. You have to be a very hard worker. I would also say, while at school, really pay attention in your classes so you can take what you learn with you when you graduate. Q: What can a person do to stand out in an interview A: Be early. Be yourself…but at the top of your game. Once hired, make sure
