Abstract: In order to measure abrasion of pantograph slider of electric locomotive accurately and expediently, according to the outside curve of pantograph slider of our country’s primary electric locomotive, this paper designs a new monitoring device of abrasion for pantograph slider, which uses ultrasonic sensors as detecting elements. The detecting principle and the gross structure of the equipment are discussed, at the same time, the operating process of the lower computer and the processing method of the data in the upper computer are elaborated.
