本研究は,CMC(コンピュータを媒介としたコミュニケーション)をEFL(外国语としての英语)学习环境へ応用し,
学习者がどのようにコミ立ニティを构筑し,自らのアイデンティテ.イを変容させているかを探求することを目的としてい
る.Moodleというコース管理システムを大学の一般教养科目の英语の授业の中で使用し,社会文化理论,特にWenger
(1998)の実践共同体理论に基づいてオンライン上でのディスカッションを质的に分析した.オンライン活动によって, コミュニティを形成しながら,学习者が他のコミュニティへの帰属意识を持ち始めることによって,アイデンティティが
変容するという结果を得た.
